Alif symbolizes the absolute unity of Allah in the Islamic faith. Alif is the first letter in the name of Allah. Everything is created by Allah, and so everything begins in the name of Allah most gracious most merciful. Alif thus symbolizes the transcendent, unqualified essence. The downward stroke of Alif signifies universal manifestation from the highest state of Being to the lowest one.
The artwork is cut by a scroll saw from Birch. It is placed on a velvet mat. There is no dye and stain involved.
It was completed with 190 hours of work including total design and cut.
